Product Overview

The 1203-USB, manufactured by Allen-Bradley, is a USB-to-SCANport/DPI/DSI protocol converter. It functions as an interface between a PC (via USB) and various Allen-Bradley drives and communication devices-specifically, DPI for PowerFlex 7-Class and PowerFlex 750, DSI for PowerFlex 4-Class, PowerFlex 520, Kinetix 3, and legacy SCANport devices such as 1305 and 1336 drives. The converter enables full-duplex, RS-232 communication using DF1 protocol and supports multiple baud rates. It is utilized primarily for configuration, programming, diagnostics, and firmware updates in maintenance, commissioning, and drive setup tasks.
