Product Overview

The Allen-Bradley 1791-16AC (Catalog No. 1791-16AC Series B) is a 16-input, 16-output AC block I/O module within the 1791 Block I/O family, designed for distributed I/O coupling to PLC-2, PLC-3, PLC-5/250, PLC-5, and SLC-5/02 controllers. It provides AC sensing and switching capability, supports direct interface with common industrial devices such as limit and proximity switches, relays, solenoids, motors, indicators, and motor starters, and supplies diagnostic indication via front-panel LED status indicators. Typical industrial applications include discrete I/O extension on machinery, remote I/O installations, and modular expansion in control panels. 1791-16AC is the full part number.
