Product Overview

The 1783-ETAP is a 3-port EtherNet/IP tap module within the Allen-Bradley Stratix/Embedded Switch Technology family. It mounts on DIN-rail and provides unmanaged Ethernet tap functionality, enabling passive network monitoring without disrupting traffic. It accepts 24 V DC power and serves in industrial control systems for Ethernet diagnostics, troubleshooting, or passive monitoring. Applications include deployment in machine control cabinets, network diagnostics points, and temporary monitoring on ControlLogix or other EtherNet/IP networks. Part number 1783-ETAP is designed for integration into existing automation networks, now discontinued as of May 31, 2026.
