The 6GK1503-2CA01 is a Siemens SIMATIC NET PROFIBUS Optical Link Module (OLM/P11 V4.1) acting as a media converter between electrical PROFIBUS segments (RS-485) and plastic fiber-optic cabling. It provides one RS-485 electrical interface and one plastic fiber-optic interface (two BFOC sockets), a signaling contact and a measurement output. In a control system it bridges long distances, enhances noise immunity and enables fiber-optic PROFIBUS segment extension, particularly for distributed automation and marine or industrial network applications.
