The 6GK7542-5FX00-0XE0 (Siemens CP 1542-5) is a communications processor module designed for SIMATIC S7-1500 systems. It enables PROFIBUS DP and DPV1 master or slave connectivity, supports S7 and PG/OP communications, time synchronization, and diagnostics. Installed on the S7-1500 rack, it facilitates integration of PROFIBUS networks within TIA Portal-controlled automation environments, commonly used in mid-range process control, distributed I/O, and plant retrofitting scenarios.
