The 6ES7157-1AB00-0AB0 is a SIMATIC ET 200AL PROFINET interface module (IM 157-1 PN) providing a PROFINET IO Device connection for distributed I/O systems. It enables module-level networking within SIMATIC ET 200AL architectures and supports I&M data (I&M 0 to I&M 4) and IRT (Isochronous Real Time) communication. The module integrates into TIA Portal (from STEP 7 V13 SP1 or V5.5 SP4 Hotfix 3) and accepts GSDML V2.3.1, facilitating engineering and configuration. Typical applications include remote distributed I/O installations in harsh environments, machine-level decentralization, and mobile or washdown scenarios.
